Jacqueline Duncan selected for The John Ruskin Prize 2026

  • 19 December 2025

Jacqueline Duncan has been selected to exhibit at The John Ruskin Prize 2026, a prestigious international, multidisciplinary art prize. The exhibition will take place from 29 January to 21 February 2026 at Trinity Buoy Wharf, London, bringing together artists working across a wide range of contemporary practices and media.

About the selected work

Duncan’s selected work, ‘Relationship’ (2025), is a large-scale sculpture constructed from hundreds of wooden sticks combined with stainless steel. The work explores tension, balance, and interdependence, examining how fragile elements can align to form resilient structures.

The sculpture creates a complex spatial network that speaks to connection, vulnerability, and mutual reliance, continuing Duncan’s investigation into how simple materials can generate strong physical and conceptual presence.

About The John Ruskin Prize

The John Ruskin Prize is an internationally open award celebrating artistic practice across all media, including sculpture, installation, painting, drawing, textiles, digital work, and performance. Established by the Guild of St George, the prize reflects John Ruskin’s belief that art can reveal universal truths through thoughtful making, material integrity, and close attention.

Now in its eighth edition, the prize welcomes artists at all stages of their careers. Alongside the exhibition, a number of awards are presented, recognising excellence in craftsmanship, innovation, and sustained artistic practice.

About Jacqueline Duncan

Jacqueline Duncan’s practice explores perception, structure, and movement through carefully considered material choices. Working across sculpture, installation, and wall-based works, she transforms modest materials into complex forms that balance order and organic rhythm. Her work invites close looking and quiet reflection, shaped by space, light, and physical presence.
