Jacqueline Duncan has been selected to participate in the Summer Exhibition at one of England’s leading art institutions, the Royal Academy of Arts in London.
The Selection
In March, the Academy published the results of the pre-selection, in which her works, “Dispersion” and “Reverberations,” were chosen for the exhibition.
On 31 May, the final results were announced, and Jacqueline Duncan is among the artists selected for this year’s exhibition, with the work “Dispersion.”
About the Summer Exhibition 2024 at the RA London
The Summer Exhibition at the RA is the largest open exhibition in the world and has been held annually, without interruption, since 1769. This year the exhibition is coordinated by sculptor Ann Christopher RA and her committee comprising Anne Desmet, Hughie Donaghue, Cornelia Parker , Hurvin Anderson, Veronica Ryan and Assemble Official.
An eclectic mix of paintings, prints and sculptures will be available to buy, with a number of works available for less than £250, making this the perfect opportunity to start your art collection. All of the works in the exhibition will be available to browse on line with the Summer Exhibition Explorer. Sales from the Summer Exhibition support the exhibiting artists and the RA’s charitable work, including training the next generation of artists in the Royal Academy Schools.
About Jacqueline Duncan
Jacqueline Duncan works in Devon. Born in 1967, she studied at the London College of Fashion and lived and worked in Milan, São Paulo, and New York, where she worked with fashion and photography before dedicating herself to the visual arts. Working with nature and materials ranging from silk and gemstones to black-eyed peas, she engages with the ever-changing aquatic worlds she observes and incorporates them into a variety of landscapes created from heat-formed fabrics, often woven with shells, stones, and other found materials.
Jacqueline’s work impresses with its precision, level of detail, and particularly the play of perspectives created with the effects of light, shadow and movement in her works.
Among solo and group exhibitions over the past 25 years, highlights include the London Art Biennale (2023), Royal West of England Academy (2019 and 2023), Museum of Contemporary Art in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Brazil (2005)
