Jacqueline Duncan selected for Guildford House Open 2025

  • 30 October 2025

Jacqueline Duncan has been selected to exhibit at the Guildford House Open 2025, an exhibition showcasing contemporary works from across the UK. The show will be held at Guildford House Gallery, Surrey, from 22 November 2025 to 28 February 2026.

About The Guildford House Open 2025

The Guildford House Open 2025 brings together 86 artworks by 80 artists, chosen from more than 1,290 submissions. The shortlist was selected by a panel of judges — Mary Branson, Kelvin Okafor, and Lizzie Collins.
The exhibition celebrates artists working across a broad range of media, including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, textiles, moving image, and mixed media.

About the Selected Work

Duncan’s selected work, Tidal Harmonics of the Bristol Channel, explores the interplay between natural forces and time.

Tidal Harmonics of the Bristol Channel

The Bristol Channel has the second largest tidal range in the world, with Avonmouth’s mean spring range reaching 12.3 meters. Over a twelve-hour period, Duncan recorded tidal readings at Avonmouth to create this visual harmonic of the tides. The work reflects how the sun, moon, and Earth’s landscape interact to produce shifting tidal patterns — revealing the natural rhythms that shape both our coastline and our daily lives.

About Jacqueline Duncan

Jacqueline Duncan explores perception, movement, and light through precise material processes. Her recent series, PINS, investigates layered spatial compositions that balance order and organic rhythm. Drawing inspiration from natural and environmental phenomena, Duncan translates these influences into meditative visual experiences.
