The Dart — Solo Exhibition

The Dart
24 May – 16 June 2025
Coombe Gallery, Dartmouth, Devon – UK

The Dart was a solo exhibition by Jacqueline Duncan at Coombe Gallery, Dartmouth, Devon. The exhibition presented new and recent works based on the River Dart, which runs past the artist’s home and forms an ongoing reference within her practice.

Works shown included The Dart 1 and Fragments of Light and Colour. Using thousands of precisely placed pins in combination with drawing, painting and mixed media, Duncan translates the river’s cartographic outline into structured, textured surfaces.

These works operate as physical mappings of the river, developed through sustained observation. The process emphasises structure, repetition and material presence, focusing on how light, movement and surface can be articulated through measured, manual methods.
