‘The Royal West of England Academy’s 171th Annual Open Exhibition’
14 September 2024 – 5 January 2025
Bristol – UK
The Royal West of England Academy’s 171th Annual Open Exhibition opened to the public on the 14th September. The RWA (Royal West of England Academy) is Bristol’s first art gallery, founded in 1844. The Annual Open Exhibition is one of the largest open art events in the Southwest, showcasing a diverse range of artistic styles and mediums. “Swell Lambda 1”, by Jacqueline Duncan, is among the more than 600 works selected.
“I’ve had the honour of being part of this exhibition in 2019, 2022, and 2023, and I am eagerly looking forward to contributing again in 2024. It is always a pleasure to be part of this exhibition. Being among so many artists, ranging from renowned professionals to emerging talents from across the UK and beyond, is a privilege, and I am immensely grateful to the curators and the entire RWA team for including me in yet another selection.”
‘Swell Lambda 1’ explores the interplay between natural elements and abstract forms. Inspired by tidal harmonics, the mixed media artwork explores the energy of water through a blend of materials and vibrant colour.
Jacqueline’s work often reflects her fascination with the natural world, and ‘Swell Lambda 1’ invites viewers to immerse themselves in the undulating waves and to experience both the serenity and power of water.
