ING Discerning Eye Exhibition

Jacqueline Duncan was selected for the ING Discerning Eye 2025, an exhibition focused on small-scale works across multiple media. Each year, independent selectors — artists, collectors and critics — curate individual presentations from submissions made across the UK.
Her selected work, Maelstrom, is part of the PIN Series. Constructed from hundreds of carefully positioned pins, the piece examines movement through repetition and accumulation.
Working within a controlled framework, Duncan uses density, spacing and light to structure the surface. The small scale requires close viewing, where shifts in shadow and reflection become integral to the work’s visual effect.
