Guildford House Open 2025
22 November 2025 – 28 February 2026
Guildford House Gallery, Surrey – UK
Jacqueline Duncan was selected for the Guildford House Open 2025, a juried exhibition presenting contemporary work from across the United Kingdom. Eighty-six artworks by 80 artists were chosen from more than 1,290 submissions by a panel including Mary Branson, Kelvin Okafor and Lizzie Collins.
Her selected work, Tidal Harmonics of the Bristol Channel, examines tidal movement through recorded data. The Bristol Channel has one of the largest tidal ranges in the world. Duncan documented tidal readings at Avonmouth over a twelve-hour period and used these measurements to construct a visual harmonic structure.
The work translates environmental data into a precise visual system, mapping the interaction of lunar and solar forces with the geography of the Channel. By working directly from observation and measurement, Duncan foregrounds the physical conditions that shape tidal change.
