‘Aquascape’
October 20th to November 14th, 2022
Coombe Gallery, Dartmouth, Devon – UK
Jacqueline Duncan held her solo exhibition ‘Aquascape’ at Coombe Farm Gallery. “The true body of work for the exhibition took shape during the lockdown. We are so, so privileged to live here, and day after day, I was engaging in a dialogue with my subject matter. There was no distraction or procrastination; I was face to face with it, confronting it.”
The ever-changing seascape right outside Jacqueline Duncan’s door serves as a continuous source of inspiration for her art. The ebb and flow of the River Dart’s tides provide a perpetually shifting aesthetic for her abstract representations of the river’s evolving patterns.
Jacqueline is captivated by the intricate details of the scene, and for her latest solo exhibition at Coombe Farm Gallery, she recreated a conceptual reality, encapsulating nature in microcosm. Drawing on her background from the London College of Fashion, she developed a series of interactive grids by cutting larger ink and acrylic images into small squares and pinning them at angles, creating a sense of movement.
